ABSTRACT: Green chemistry is a constant theme in general chemistry. Students are introduced to green compounds and concepts in the first week of class. Students use green concepts to solve class problems, projects, and lab activities. In the lab, students study possible green replacements for a lab from their lab book. Students also work with R134a, an ozone friendly compound that is a Freon replacement to study gases.
